Position Overview
The Asset Management Resource Planner is responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance and operational activities across multiple departments within an asset-intensive environment. This role ensures work is planned and executed efficiently while balancing priorities such as asset criticality, budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and operational needs. This position plays a key role in optimizing resource utilization and supporting safe, reliable system performance.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term schedules, balancing preventive maintenance, corrective work, capital initiatives, and emergency readiness
- Share schedules with field teams and adjust based on operational feedback
- Align work plans with priorities such as risk, funding, material availability, and compliance requirements
- Account for operational constraints including system demand, seasonal impacts, and process stability
- Lead recurring planning and scheduling meetings with operations and field leadership
- Identify required labor types, trades, and external support for upcoming work
- Define job requirements including safety considerations, equipment needs, and work constraints
- Ensure all permits and compliance requirements are in place prior to execution
- Support accurate documentation and reporting of completed work
Resource and Materials Coordination
- Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment required for scheduled work
- Partner with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of parts
- Track long-lead items and mitigate risks impacting schedules
- Coordinate temporary equipment or external services as needed
Execution and Continuous Improvement
- Refine labor and resource estimates based on execution data
- Track key metrics including schedule adherence, backlog, productivity, and cost efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and costs within maintenance systems
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes and execution efficiency
Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, field operations, or technical roles within an asset-intensive environment
- Background in utilities, manufacturing, or similar industries is a plus
- Experience working in structured or unionized environments is preferred
Skills and Experience
- Strong attention to detail in developing work plans, materials lists, and job requirements
- Ability to prioritize work based on risk, cost, and operational impact
- Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple teams

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
