The weigh team works as part of a multidisciplinary organization to enable discovery, development, and launch of the crop protection pipeline by accurately preparing and managing materials for screening and testing.
Contract: 1-year assignment, with possible extension or conversion
Pay Rate: $22/hr

The Role: What You’ll Do
Experience with laboratory instrument upkeep, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Proven ability to task-switch, prioritize workload, and work efficiently under deadlines.

The Role: What You’ll Do
- Weighing & Material Handling: Accurately weigh, deliver, and maintain laboratory records of materials and discovery compounds for screening.
- Sample Transfer & Storage: Support projects transferring vials and samples to new storage systems and maintain chain-of-custody documentation.
- Automated Operations: Potentially operate automated liquid handling systems to plate samples for physical property testing.
- Solvent Handling & Formulation Support: Safely handle and formulate solvents and prepare materials per protocol.
- Customer Communication: Provide daily updates to internal or external customers on order/status and material availability.
- Lab Upkeep & Safety: Maintain laboratory and fume hood spaces, ensure sanitation and audit-ready housekeeping, and follow chemical safety practices.
- Training & Support
- Initial onboarding includes hands-on lab training and shadowing with experienced team members. Ongoing guidance, feedback, and cross-functional collaboration support skill development and operational consistency.
- Education: BS in Chemistry, Biology, or a related STEM field.
- Experience: Familiarity with working in a chemical laboratory; prior hands-on lab exposure through academic or industry settings preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder updates.
- Mindset: Dependable, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to meet timelines.
- Core Skills
- Comfort with standard chemical lab equipment and basic laboratory techniques.
- Accurate recordkeeping and data maintenance for materials and inventory.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
- Safe handling of hazardous chemicals and adherence to laboratory procedures.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
