Ideal Candidate
- 5 years of process safety experience within a chemical manufacturing or specialty chemicals environment.
- Strong expertise in OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance.
- Hands-on experience leading PHA/HAZOP, MOC, PSSR, and compliance audits.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) with strong knowledge of process risk analysis and pressure relief systems.
- Experience using PHAST or similar consequence modeling software; CSP certification is a plus.
Role Summary
- The Process Safety Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- The position ensures site conformance with corporate process safety standards and leads key PSM elements including hazard analysis, management of change, pre-startup reviews, and compliance auditing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the site's Process Safety Management program
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and manage corrective action plans.
- Lead Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for new or modified equipment.
- Administer the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Perform PSM compliance audits and track corrective actions.
- Maintain the facility's EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) and prevention programs.
- Serve as the site's process safety expert and advisor for SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
- 7-10 years in the chemical process industry.
- 3-5 years of PSM compliance experience.
Preferred Experience with:
- Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA)
- Reaction kinetics analysis
- Pressure relief calculations
- PHAST or similar process safety modeling software
Salary : $110,000 - $145,000
