Responsibilities
- Collect, prepare, and label patient samples, specimens, and cultures in accordance with established laboratory protocols.
- Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests, including hematology, urinalysis, microbiology, chemistry, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as microscopes, analyzers, and cell counters.
- Maintain quality control systems and verify the accuracy and reliability of all test results.
- Record, interpret, and report test results promptly and accurately to healthcare providers.
- Follow all laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance policies.
- Identify and resolve technical problems or irregularities in testing and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and reagents to maintain adequate inventory.
- Participate in research and development activities and assist in training new lab personnel.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT/MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting required.
- Strong working knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and diagnostic testing methods.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Sound understanding of infection control and laboratory safety protocols.
