Minimum Requirements:

Substitute Teacher:
Pay: $170/day
Minimum Requirements:

• Proof of education (Bachelor’s Degree required)
• Official sealed transcripts (required for substitute license)
• A valid 3-Year Short-Call License (MN Substitute Permit) or an active MN Educator’s License (Tier 1-4)
• Application cost for 3-Year Short-Call License: $90.25
• Fingerprinting is required as part of the license application process

Paraprofessional:

Pay: $17-$20/hour
Minimum Requirements:

• Proof of education
• Either an associate’s degree/60 college credits
• Or High school diploma/GED plus a Parapro Assessment score of 455 or higher
• Note: U.S. education evaluations of foreign education are not accepted by the MDE

***Important*** If applying for a Sub License, official transcripts are required.

Responsibilities:

• Follow district lesson plans and classroom procedures
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Enforce school rules and policies
• For long-term assignments, may develop lesson plans and grade assignments
• Support students academically and behaviorally (Paraeducator)
