We are seeking a skilled and motivated MIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. Responsibilities
- Operate MIG welding equipment to join metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces using plasma cutters, hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper handling of welding gases and shielding materials.
- Set up welding machines with appropriate parameters based on the type of metal material and project specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections on welds using visual inspection techniques and measuring instruments to ensure compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks involving sheet metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and construction site requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of welding procedures, inspections, and completed work for quality assurance purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience in MIG welding within a construction or fabrication shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and TIG welding is preferred.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Hands-on experience with construction site activities involving metal materials and structural assemblies.
- Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math confidently.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes, machining, plasma cutting, and assembly procedures.
- Prior experience working with sheet metal fabrication and metal materials in accordance with AWS standards.
