Position Summary
Pay: $18–$20 per hour
Type: Temporary to possible permanent
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; occasional Saturday mornings if needed
Department: Manufacturing – Prototype Precision Sheet Metal
Reports To: Production Manager
Key Responsibilities
Operate spot welding equipment to join thin-gauge sheet metal components.
Fabricate assemblies using engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Perform layout, fitting, welding, grinding, deburring, and finishing to meet precision and cosmetic standards.
Assist with forming, assembly, hardware installation, and machine operation when welding work is limited.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; follow safety protocols.
Conduct routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
Use calipers and measuring tools to verify tight tolerances on light-gauge metal.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational welding training preferred.
Experience: 1–3 years in welding/fabrication, ideally in precision or prototype sheet metal work.
Technical Skills
Proficient in spot welding on materials 0.030"–0.125" thick.
Skilled in layout, cutting, forming, and fitting sheet metal parts.
Able to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
Experienced with hand tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment.
Consistent in maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
