What's a typical day as an Extrusion Machine Operator? You'll be:
- Operating, troubleshooting, repairing and performing minor maintenance of the extrusion equipment that processes polypropylene pellets into log form.
- Following safety guidelines and participating in safety-related activities.
- Setting up, monitoring, and adjusting machines according to product specifications.
- Inspecting materials and products for quality control.
- Troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on equipment.
- Keeping accurate records and communicating technical issues.
- Assisting in training other operators.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Have 6 months of experience as a machine operator, maintenance technician, or related military experience; or an Associate's Degree in a relevant field.
- Have basic math and computer skills, including Excel.
- Have good mechanical aptitude.
- Have experience with quality inspection and lean manufacturing.
- Are familiar with SAP and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) safety procedures.
- Are able to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Are willing to wear required personal protective equipment.
