What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position at Kelloggsville Public Schools?

BCBA - 1.0 FTE
K-12 District Wide 
Effective:  2025-26 School Year

 

Summary: 
This position is responsible for leading building-level teams in gathering and analyzing behavioral data, supporting the development of Functional Behavior Assessments, supporting the development of Positive Behavior Support Plans and monitoring student behavior progress.  They will work with general and special education teams to provide coaching on implementing evidence-based behavior support strategies. 

 

Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Child Development, Psychology, Education, Human Behavior, Social Work, Counseling or a related field is preferred;
BCBA Certification Required;
CPI and/or De-Escalation Training Preferred
Bilingual skills helpful;

 

Training/Experience/Responsibilities:
Uses knowledge in and experience with the IEP, FBA and PBSP process, and data collection and analysis;
Uses the working knowledge of functional behavior assessment and behavior plans, including Practical Functional Assessment/Skill-Based Treatment and Enhanced Choice Model, to engage teachers/staff in implementation with fidelity and regular monitoring of student progress;
Works with staff to deepen student and school data analysis to support increased student growth and achievement around behavior, communication and language;
Coordinate with staff pursuant to referrals, requests for service and other identified needs;
Works to establish building and district systems, processes and training related to the implementation of Skill Based Treatment;
Collaborates with staff for behavioral coaching;
Must possess exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with administrators, colleagues, students and families;
Strong collaboration, small group management, interpersonal and managing difficult conversation skills.
Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community;
Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others;
Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District;
Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.

 

Compensation/Working Conditions:
