We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our financial operations and partner with executive leadership in driving sustainable growth. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a strong background in accounting, financial management, and private equity-backed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
- Deliver financial reporting packages and KPIs to executive leadership and private equity stakeholders.
- Lead cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and treasury functions.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budget, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Build and maintain efficient accounting systems, policies, and internal processes.
- Ensure cost accounting practices align with operational and profitability objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts across financial and operational workflows.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including audits and tax filings.
- Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and consultants.
- Strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability and professional growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and other departments.
- Champion a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Partner with private equity sponsors on reporting and diligence requirements.
- Assist in post-acquisition integration, aligning accounting policies and processes.
- Support add-on acquisitions with due diligence and financial integration activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Background in manufacturing or industrial services required.
- Experience with private equity-backed organizations strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Advanced Excel capabilities and financial modeling expertise.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Proven success in building and leading high-performing teams.
Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
