Kellington Protection continues to expand its capabilities with the launch of its enhanced remote monitoring division. Our Remote Camera Monitoring team provides continuous, real-time oversight for client locations, including commercial properties, parking assets, and critical infrastructure.
This role functions as the first step within a structured career pathway. Remote Camera Monitors receive comprehensive training designed to advance them toward promotion into Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator positions as they demonstrate performance and competency.
Position Summary
The Remote Camera Monitor is responsible for observing live video surveillance systems, identifying suspicious or unsafe activity, and executing clear and timely escalation protocols. This is an entry-level role built intentionally as a development track to GSOC operations, offering hands-on exposure to modern security technology platforms and incident response workflows. Success in this role requires disciplined monitoring practices, strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and professional communication skills.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor live video feeds across multiple client locations, maintaining continuous awareness of activity.
- Detect suspicious, irregular, or unsafe conditions and initiate appropriate notifications.
- Adhere to established escalation frameworks, ensuring timely communication to supervisors, clients, or field teams.
- Accurately document incidents, observations, and daily logs in a clear and professional format.
- Support incident reviews and assist with video retrieval requests.
- Uphold strict confidentiality standards and safeguard sensitive information.
- Facilitate smooth shift transitions through thorough written and verbal handovers.
- Participate in required training to prepare for advancement into GSOC Operator roles.
Training & Advancement Path (GSOC Development Track)
All Remote Camera Monitors will receive structured instruction and developmental support, including:
- Training on Milestone and additional video management systems (VMS).
- Foundational coursework in incident identification, analysis, and risk assessment.
- Exposure to GSOC communication, escalation, and incident management protocols.
- Skill-building in multi-screen monitoring, prioritization, and situational awareness.
- Eligibility for promotion to GSOC Operator based on performance, reliability, and completion of required competencies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in surveillance, dispatch, monitoring, customer service, or security preferred but not required.
- Strong computer literacy with the ability to multitask and manage multiple systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to sustain focus for extended periods.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and composure during evolving situations.
