Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator to support programming, setup, and process optimization across our milling and turning operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable writing and editing G-code, setting up and operating machines, troubleshooting on the fly, and improving machining processes. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently, and understands what it takes to make quality parts consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, setup, and operate CNC mills and lathes for production and prototype work
- Write, edit, and troubleshoot G-code at the machine and offline
- Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding to support efficient production
- Dial in setups and make offsets/adjustments to hold tight tolerances
- Inspect parts using standard measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues as they come up
- Work with shop foreman to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and streamline setups
- Perform first-piece inspections and verify parts meet print specifications
- Maintain organized setups, tooling, and a clean work area
- Help keep machines running efficiently and communicate maintenance concerns when identified
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of CNC programming and setup experience in a precision manufacturing environment; experience programming multi-axis mills and lathes a strong plus
- Strong knowledge of G-code and machining processes
- Experience with Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software preferred
- Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Valid certification or training in forklift operation is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for extended periods throughout an 8-hour shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to cutting fluids and lubricants
