Role Description The Staff Auditor is a full-time, on-site role based in Overland Park, KS. This position is responsible for performing audit procedures under the supervision of senior team members, including testing internal controls, reviewing financial records, and documenting workpapers in accordance with firm and professional standards. Day-to-day tasks include participating in client meetings, assisting with risk assessments, preparing audit schedules, and helping draft audit findings and reports. The Staff Auditor will work closely with engagement teams to meet deadlines, support multiple client engagements, and maintain clear communication with clients and colleagues. The role also involves staying current on relevant accounting and auditing standards and contributing to process improvements within the audit practice.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards and methodologies
- Attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for professional client interactions
- Team collaboration skills with an ability to work independently as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred
- CPA eligibility required including completion of college credits
