Fleet ManagerDuties and ResponsibilitiesDirect Manager to 25-35 drivers, combination of OTR, Local, & ShuttleCommunicate load assignments to drivers as far in advance as possibleMaintain acceptable driver retention levels within your assigned fleetProactively maximize drivers available time on a daily basisAccurately update TMW with drivers ETA and actual arrival timesProactively communicate with Customer Reps on several aspects:DetentionLate ArrivalsEarly ArrivalsAvailable CapacityLumpersStop offsDriver AssistReward and Discipline drivers as neededCoordinate on maintenance issues with the maintenance departmentMonitor cost metrics affected by drivers and counsel/coach them if those metrics are outside of acceptable levels, these are:Fuel PurchasesIdlingTollsOut of Route MilesSchedule Equipment Maintenance
