Diesel Mechanic

Full Time - 2nd Shift 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain proficiency in the diagnostics and repair of all assigned equipment.
• Assist senior technician in the completion of project work
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and modifications to assigned equipment. 
• Read and comprehend service troubleshooting guides using OEM software
• Maintain a basic level of skill in diesel after treatment, air brakes, electrical and lighting systems.
• Perform daily yard checks
• Perform safety and annual inspections in accordance with FMCSA regulations
• Install, mount, and dismount tires
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns during working hours as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company/OSHA standards
• Interact courteously and professionally with drivers, vendors, and other employees regarding vehicle repairs and shop business. 
• Assist in the completion of required documentation including vehicle write-ups, work orders, and timecards. 
• Weekend availability

Special Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
• Experience with OEM software is preferred 
• Brake certification in accordance with FMCSA § 396.25 required
• Basic computer skills such as email and Word
