Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Information Systems to lead their IT operations, software, business systems and infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on technology leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while providing strategic direction. In this role, you'll be responsible for the overall management, strategy, and execution of all information systems and technology initiatives that support their multi-regional operations.
This leadership position requires a balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution, as you'll work directly with systems, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams to ensure their technology environment supports business growth and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the information systems strategy aligned with company objectives and growth plans
- Lead IT infrastructure planning and implementation
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency and security
- Manage IT budget, vendor relationships, and resource allocation
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of all information systems, networks, servers, cloud services and infrastructure
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all IT systems
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Hands-On Execution
- Actively participate in system implementations, configurations, and troubleshooting
- Design and deploy network architecture, server infrastructure, and cloud solutions
- Manage enterprise applications, databases, and integration projects
- Provide escalation support for critical technical issues
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and develop the IT team
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
- Collaborate with department heads to understand technology needs and deliver solutions
- Establish IT policies, procedures, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 10 years of experience in an IT Systems leadership role, preferably in a mid-sized company
- Proven track record of managing enterprise IT infrastructure and operations
- Strong expertise in network architecture, systems administration, and cybersecurity
- Experience managing multi-location IT operations
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong business acumen with ability to align IT strategy with business objectives
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in the security technology or related industry sector
- Professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, or similar)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and security standards
- Background in ERP systems implementation and management
- Experience with IT service management tools and methodologies
- Competitive base salary: $150,000 - $180,000
