Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time role based in Raleigh, NC or Greenville, NC. This role is responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes. The Senior Accountant will handle complex account reconciliations, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing financial data, identifying variances, preparing reports for internal and client use, and collaborating with colleagues to provide value-driven insights. The role also involves mentoring junior staff, assisting with process improvements, and contributing to high-quality client service rooted in the firm’s client-vested approach.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and year-end close processes.
- Advanced skills with accounting software and spreadsheets; experience with cloud-based tools is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-specialists.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA licensure or progress toward CPA is preferred.
