Overview
Operate heavy equipment to move earth, materials, and supplies across active construction sites. You’ll inspect equipment, follow site plans and directions, and coordinate with crew members to keep work moving safely and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, front loader and trucks, based on site needs and demonstrated qualifications.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and inspections; use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to identify issues, including those involving hydraulics.
- Follow equipment safety procedures, applicable safety regulations, and occupational safety requirements; wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate equipment movement with the site crew and report hazards, damage, or maintenance needs promptly.
Qualifications
- Construction site or other construction experience, with practical heavy equipment operation skills.
- Experience with commercial driving or commercial truck driving is preferred; relevant experience with concrete mixers, cranes, or farm machinery is also valued.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment and operation of dozers, loaders, backhoes, and excavators.
- Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, equipment maintenance, hydraulics, and safe material handling.
- Ability to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and comply with site safety procedures; required licenses or certifications must match the equipment and applicable regulations.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
