About the Role


Keiro Northwest is seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join its Board of Directors and support culturally centered programs serving the Japanese American community in the greater Seattle area.


This volunteer Board role provides meaningful leadership in advancing community programs, financial stewardship, and long-term organizational stability.


The Treasurer works closely with the Board Chair, chairs the Finance Committee, and partners with our business management company and accounting partners to oversee the organization’s financial health.


Responsibilities may include:


  • Reviewing monthly financial statements and reports
  • Supporting annual budgeting and financial planning
  • Assisting with oversight of investments, audits, and compliance
  • Leading the Finance Committee monthly meetings
  • Providing strategic financial guidance to the organization


Ideal candidates may have experience in:


  • Accounting or finance
  • Nonprofit financial oversight
  • Banking or investment management
  • CPA or financial leadership roles
  • Board governance
  • Prior board experience is welcomed but not required.



About Keiro Northwest


Keiro Northwest is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening community well-being through culturally responsive programs, care services, wellness initiatives, and community connection rooted in the Japanese American experience.


The organization operates programs including Nikkei Manor assisted living and Kokoro Kai adult day services, while continuing to expand partnerships that support wellness, community engagement, and cultural connection.


As our organization continues to grow and evolve, we are also seeking board members with diverse professional backgrounds who are passionate about community impact. We are especially interested in individuals with experience in:


  • Legal
  • Human Resources
  • Executive Leadership
  • Nonprofit Governance
  • Healthcare or Senior Services
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Finance or Operations
  • Fundraising & Community Engagement


Board members help guide the organization's strategic direction and long-term sustainability of the organization, while supporting programs that serve older adults, caregivers, and the broader community.


Responsibilities may include:


  • Attending regular Board and committee meetings
  • Participating in strategic planning and organizational governance
  • Serving as ambassadors for the organization within the community
  • Supporting fundraising and community engagement initiatives
  • Providing professional expertise and leadership guidance


Ideal candidates are collaborative, thoughtful, and passionate about strengthening services and opportunities for the Japanese American community in the Pacific Northwest.


Prior nonprofit board experience is welcomed but not required.


This is a volunteer leadership opportunity based in the Seattle area, with hybrid meeting participation available.
