NEP Cafe is looking for a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to support our back-of-house team. This position is responsible for maintaining clean dishes, equipment, and kitchen areas while supporting the kitchen team during daily operations.

• Operate the commercial dishwasher and ensure dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized.

• Hand wash glassware, cookware, and other items when necessary.

• Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas and return clean items to their designated storage areas.

• Maintain an adequate supply of clean dishes, utensils, and equipment, especially during peak service periods.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dishwashing and kitchen areas.

• Empty and clean trash receptacles as needed.

• Clean spills and broken glassware promptly and safely.

• Assist prep cooks and other kitchen team members as needed.

• Monitor cleaning supplies and smallwares and notify a supervisor when supplies are running low.

• Report dishwasher equipment or sanitation concerns to a supervisor promptly.

• Perform opening, closing, and assigned side work.

• Assist with periodic deep cleaning of designated areas, including restrooms, as assigned.

• Perform other duties consistent with the position and restaurant operations as assigned by management.

• Minimum 6 months of back-of-house restaurant experience required.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and food-safety standards.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the position.

• California Food Handler Card required within 30 days of hire. Employer-paid training/examination and compensated training time will be provided in accordance with California law.
