The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships with key customer accounts while ensuring exceptional service across all sales channels, including retail, phone sales, e-commerce, and B2B. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring client satisfaction, timely communication, and accurate order management. The Account Manager will oversee 2 associates and collaborate closely with internal teams, including operations, customer service, sales, and finance, to support a seamless customer experience and drive account-level performance.
Account Management & Client Relations
- Serve as the main point of contact for accounts, ensuring clients receive timely, accurate, and professional support.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers through proactive communication and follow-up.
- Understand each account’s needs, goals, and challenges and provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for increased engagement.
- Partner with internal departments to resolve customer issues or escalations efficiently and effectively.
- Support promotional activities, product launches, or service changes as needed for assigned accounts.
Order & Sales Support
- Collaborate with operations to maintain accurate product availability and communicate changes to customers as needed.
- Provide reporting and insights to leadership related to account activity, revenue trends, and customer engagement.
Team Leadership
- Directly oversee 2 associates, ensuring workloads are distributed effectively and customer service standards are upheld.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to support team development.
- Promote a positive, high-performance culture with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales, operations, marketing, and customer service teams to support omni-channel initiatives and improve the overall customer experience.
- Coordinate with inventory and operations teams on product availability, delivery timelines, and service commitments.
- Work with finance or operations teams to support accurate customer billing, returns, and payment reconciliation when applicable.
Reporting & Insights
- Provide recurring and ad hoc reporting on account performance, customer trends, and engagement metrics.
- Identify process improvements and work with leadership to enhance account management workflows and customer experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to gain trust through consistent and reliable service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; comfortable communicating with both internal teams and external customers.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
- Experience leading or supervising a team a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with NetSuite, CRM systems, or inventory management tools is not required but a strong plus.
- Highly motivated and committed to supporting the growth and success of the company.
