What are the responsibilities and job description for the Betologist position at Keeneland Association Inc?
Keeneland is searching for new faces to join our BETologist team for the spring and fall race meets . BETologist interact one-on-one with race day fans to increase their knowledge of horse racing, describe how to place bets, explain how to read a racing program, and provide general information about horse racing. The goal of the BETologist team is to provide racing fans with a wonderful Keeneland experience. BETologist also help promote and sign-up new customers for our online wagering program, Keeneland Select.
Primary Duties
- Effectively communicate with customers.
- Sign-up customers to Keeneland Select for online wagering.
- Explain handicapping options.
- Interact with the crowd to promote wagering.
- Answer general questions about Keeneland.
Qualifications
- A winning smile, positive outlook and out-going personality.
- A genuine interest in horse racing. Obsessed fans are preferred.
- Basic knowledge of wagering on horse racing. Candidates will be receive training but those with previous wagering knowledge are preferred.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast pace environment.
- Working knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
