Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Litigation Attorney role based in Orem, UT. The Litigation Attorney will manage a caseload involving immigration and criminal defense matters, including client intake, legal research, case strategy development, and preparation of pleadings and motions. Daily responsibilities include drafting and arguing motions, handling discovery, conducting depositions, and representing clients at hearings and trials in various courts. The role involves consistent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, as well as collaboration with internal team members to ensure thorough and effective case preparation. The attorney will also stay current with relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to provide informed, strategic representation.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, including immigration and criminal defense, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective case strategies.
- Demonstrated experience drafting, filing, and arguing Motions and other pleadings in state and/or federal Courts.
- Hands-on litigation experience in Trials, including examination of witnesses, presentation of evidence, and advocacy before judges and, when applicable, juries.
- Experience preparing for and conducting Depositions, including developing outlines, questioning witnesses, and using deposition testimony in motion practice and at trial.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with the Utah State Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and strong legal research and drafting abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- Professional fluency in Spanish or another language commonly used by immigration clients is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in immigration law, criminal defense, or related litigation fields is strongly preferred.
