POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chiropractic Assistant (CA) supports the clinical team by maintaining the physical environment of the clinic, preparing treatment rooms, and assisting doctors with the application of therapeutic modalities. This role is an essential link between front desk operations and clinical care — ensuring rooms are ready, patients are properly set up, and doctors can focus on treatment. The CA operates under the direct supervision of the treating doctor at all times during patient care.
SCHEDULE & COVERAGE
Hours: Per assigned schedule — clinical hours, in-office only
Phone Coverage: 3rd backup — answer only when both Patient Accounts Manager and Operations Lead are unavailable | Approved script only
Supervision: Treating doctor during patient care hours | Dr. Keegan for operational matters
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Office Appearance & Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of all clinical areas, hallways, and common spaces throughout the day
- Ensure treatment rooms are tidy, organized, and presentable before and after each patient encounter
- Monitor and report any maintenance, cleanliness, or supply issues to Dr. Keegan
Room Preparation & Supply Management
- Prepare each treatment room prior to patient encounters — table paper, supplies, equipment check
- Restock all treatment rooms with required supplies on a scheduled and as-needed basis
- Track supply inventory and communicate low-stock items to Dr. Keegan before stock runs out
- Ensure all therapeutic equipment (e-stim, ultrasound, RPW) is clean, functional, and properly positioned
Therapeutic Modality Application
- Place patients on electrical stimulation therapy per doctor's instructions — correct pad placement, intensity settings, and timer
- Remove patients from electrical stimulation at conclusion of treatment and document as directed
- Apply ultrasound therapy to designated areas per doctor's written or verbal instructions
- Apply Radial Pulse Wave (RPW) therapy per doctor's instructions — correct applicator, pressure, and frequency settings
- Never adjust therapy parameters beyond what the doctor has instructed — all changes require doctor authorization
- Monitor patients during modality application — report any discomfort, adverse reaction, or equipment malfunction to the doctor immediately
Doctor Assistance & Clinical Support
- Assist treating doctors in any capacity required during patient encounters
- Facilitate smooth patient flow — escort patients to rooms, communicate wait times, relay doctor instructions
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times during room transitions and therapy application
- Communicate any patient concerns or observations to the treating doctor promptly
- Participate in daily morning huddle — report supply needs, equipment issues, and room readiness status
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 35.0 per week
