Job Summary
This is a demanding supervisory role with responsibility for managing, coaching direct reports for performance and coordinating the manufacturing process from Compounding through Quality. This critical position requires a high level of effective decision making. Hours are M-Th 3:30p-2a. OT when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all supervisory functions of the production area with oversight of the Operations Manager, to include product documentation, employee evaluations, safety, and disciplinary action;
- Oversees the production of parts to customer specification and within specific time frames;
- Works with the planner to ensure all production schedules are met;
- Compiles, develops, and generates reports of manufacturing progress;
- Implements all policies and procedures to be used in the production of metal stampings and assemblies;
- Organizes and conducts shift meetings;
- Responds to emergencies which might arise in the production area during the assigned shift;
- Responsible for the management, coordination, and evaluation of a team of skilled operators in a manufacturing operation;
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws;
- May include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
- Appraising performance;
- Coaching for performance and improvement, rewarding and disciplining employees;
- Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Performs special assignments as delegated.
- Required to run machines for production as needed.
Position Qualifications/Requirements
- Demonstrated skill in establishing priorities for self and others, ensuring the workload is distributed among the employees within the dept. to obtain throughput, efficiency, WIP, and budgetary goals;
- Background of management responsibility in a fast-paced manufacturing environment;
- Working knowledge and understanding of metal stamping production and quality standards and processes desired, but not required;
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures with regard to employee conduct, benefits, and safety programs;
- Understanding of Kecy quality and production procedures and practices is required;
- Thorough understanding and application of the safety procedures to be used in the metal stamping and assembly environment;
- Demonstrated skill in supervising a team of skilled production leads;
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written;
- Ability to extract information and compile data for a variety of reports in a timely and accurate manner;
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to deal effectively with personnel at all levels within an organization;
- Basic negotiation skills
- Demonstrated computer skills, to include Word, Excel, and Email
- Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision – problem solving skills a must;
- Willingness and ability to respond to production emergencies as required
- Willingness and ability to flex to other shifts as needed
- Must be able to work Overtime such as: holidays, weekends, and extended shifts
- Working knowledge of OSHA and work safety practices and procedures are preferred
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft office tools.
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
