What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine (Clinician Educator) Hospitalist Scholar Program position at Keck School of Medicine?
The Division of Hospital and Palliative Medicine (HPM) at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking an exceptional Internist to join our team as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the one-year Hospitalist Scholar Program. This is a unique fixed term full-time faculty position with an emphasis on combining clinical work, and staffing teaching teams, while also being guided through a mentorship program with dedicated time for scholarly work.
Clinical responsibilities for the Hospitalist Scholar role within the Keck Hospital Medicine group includes a reduced, hybrid schedule of days and nights, with a mix of Teaching Teams at both Keck Medical Center and USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. The successful applicant would also have weeks on Team D, which has a lower patient volume.
In addition to inpatient clinical and teaching responsibilities, the Hospitalist Scholar will participate in a 12-month mentorship program designed to provide the tools to succeed in a career as a Hospitalist, while also allowing dedicated time to pursue scholarly interests.
Applicants should demonstrate a dedication to caring for a diverse patient population, a passion for teaching learners at various levels, excellent communication skills, and an enthusiasm for working in a collegial team-based environment.
Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine and hold a current CA State Medical License and a full schedule, fee paid DEA License with a CA address at the time of credentialing.
This one-year fixed term position begins on July 1 and ends June 30 of the following year.
This position offers a salary of $230,000. Reimbursement for one-year Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) membership and attendance at the annual SHM Converge conference is also available.
