The Primary Responsibility Of The Adjunct Faculty Member Is Teaching. We Are Seeking Adjunct Instructors For The Following Course At Keck Graduate Institute (KGI)

REG 6320 Advanced Regulatory Topics for Biologics (Spring, 1.5 credits)

Course Description

The primary goal of this course is to provide students with an advanced background in the regulatory and quality considerations of novel therapies in the fields of Immuno-oncology, Gene Therapy, and Rare Disease Therapies. The innovation in the Biotechnological and Biologics fields is advancing at a rapid pace. It is expected that many emerging therapies in these fields will be approved for the treatment of various diseases. Also, it is expected that many new Biosimilar products will be introduced to the marketplace. The Regulatory authorities are challenged to keep pace with the innovations and providence guidance documents to the industry. Persons knowledgeable in the emerging therapies are in high demand and hold positions of significant responsibility within the private and public sectors of the healthcare industry. Through a series of lectures this course will teach the critical thinking and judgement skills that are needed for developing regulatory strategies for emerging therapies.

The successful candidate must share in the mission of KGI and the Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences Programs. The Adjunct Faculty member reports directly to the Dean and works collaboratively with the Program Directors and other faculty.

Located in beautiful Claremont, California, Keck Graduate Institute is a member of the prestigious Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate liberal arts colleges, two graduate institutions, and The Claremont Colleges Services, which provide shared institutional support services.

Education And Experience

A qualified candidate must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field. A doctoral degree is strongly preferred. A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience. Prior experience in teaching for active learning preferred. Experience with the Canvas learning management system is a plus.

  • Provides high-quality student instruction

Physical And Mental Requirements

Ability to maintain good concentration level while dealing with interruptions; attention to details with emphasis on accuracy; capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information, formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans. Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Standing for extended periods of time. Reaching and extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than the whole hand(s), or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard. Communication skills using the spoken word. Ability to see within normal parameters. Ability to hear within normal parameters. Ability to bend and stoop, for example, to file. Ability to move about. Ability to lift and carry short distances up to 20 lbs., for example to lift or move office supplies, files, books and packages. Ability to drive locally. Occasionally, will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time at activities/events on and off-campus. Ability to travel locally, depending on business needs.
