The Klamath Early Childhood Development Center (KECDC) is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) team. This position provides services to children ages birth to five in a variety of settings, including preschool classrooms, homes, and community environments.
General Description:
- Evaluate and diagnose students with communication disorders and prescribe appropriate interventions and modifications
- Participate in the development of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Communicate with parents through conferences, virtual meetings, phone calls, and written correspondence
- Provide direct and consultative services to eligible students with communication disorders
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for children ages birth–5
- Provide services in natural environments, including classrooms, homes, and community settings
- Collaborate with teachers, EI/ECSE staff, and related service providers to design and implement supports
- Coach and support families in implementing communication strategies within daily routines
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and complete all record-keeping responsibilities, including Medicaid billing, in a timely manner
- Participate in team meetings, eligibility meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Actively engage in program improvement efforts and professional learning opportunities
- Provide communication-related consultation and professional development to community preschool staff
- Support and supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in accordance with state guidelines
- Assist in facilitating staff development activities related to communication disorders
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) supervision available
Qualifications:
1. Successful completion of an approved speech pathology program.
2. Oregon teachers’ license with speech language impaired endorsement and acquire
Oregon Health Board of Examiners’ speech pathology license, or Oregon Health Board of Examiners’ speech pathology license.
3. Prefer American Speech and Hearing Association Certificate Clinical Competence.
4. Complete all district required hiring processes and trainings.
5. Obtain Registration with the Central Background Registry.
