THE POSITION:
Kearns & West seeks a bi-lingual Spanish speaking Project Coordinator in our Portland, Oregon office. This position requires knowledge of and experience working with the Latinx community, in addition to culturally specific engagement work, the candidate will support a range of projects with multi-party collaboratives, stakeholder engagement, communications, and outreach. In this position they will have additional opportunities to work on other projects they are interested in as well. The position provides an opportunity to work on projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Mountain region as well as the opportunity to staff projects of national significance. Leadership and expertise in language access, culturally specific engagement strategies, understanding cultural considerations barriers, and opportunities for meaningful stakeholder involvement are desired attributes of the candidate.
Key responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Maintaining project tracking systems with updated information garnered from project sources.
- Leading or supporting coordination of meeting logistics.
- Attending meetings with stakeholders and providing logistics and note taking support.
- Leading new project coordination from practitioner selection to award and close.
- Ensuring accuracy of contract information across several databases and trackers.
- Coordinating and communicating project information across several teams and entities.
- Processing contract changes and project invoices.
- Maintaining regular client and practitioner relationships.
- Scheduling and facilitating client and project calls.
- Undertaking new business development proposal processes.
- Supporting project teams to track scope, budget and schedule of several projects.
- Synthesizing project performance data for reporting and improvement purposes.
- Contributing to monitoring and evaluating of projects.
- Supporting public involvement planning and execution.
- Proofreading reports and other documents.
- Programming and conducting virtual meetings with interactive functions. (e.g., Zoom)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in natural resources, public policy, communications, journalism, public relations, political science, or a related field. Interest in environmental/public policy issues, natural resource management, community/regional planning, equity and inclusive engagement, renewable energy, transmission, air quality, public involvement, conflict resolution, peacebuilding and mediation is also preferred.
- 1- 2 years of experience is preferred including transferable skills. Your transferable skills are any skills you have gained through education, work experience (including the military) or life experience that are relevant for this position. Be sure to describe any transferable skills on your application and clearly explain how they apply to this position. An advanced degree or education is a plus but will not change job duties.

COMPENSATION
SALARY RANGE- $45,000-$60,000
