Description
Under the direction of the Head Competitive Coach for specified sport, plan and implement assigned competitive aquatic activities for the Fitness Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES :
1. Assist the Head Competitive Coach with the execution of all necessary functions to maintain a successful and organized competitive program
a. Give input on an effective yearly, seasonal, monthly, and daily plans for the team and athletes
b. Attend all assigned practices, competitions, and staff meetings
c. Participate in parent / athlete conferences
d. Help with the administrative / record keeping aspects of the program
e. Give input on the team website and all methods of communication with athletes and parents
2. Maintain the professional atmosphere of the Fitness Center and of the coaching profession
a. Always conduct oneself in a professional manner, while at the Fitness Center and at other facilities
b. Ensure that athletes show mature and respectful behavior as much as possible
c. Responsible for professional self-development by attending seminars and conferences when appropriate
d. Maintain active involvement in related professional organizations
3. Responsible for the safety of the participants
a. Ensure that techniques are used to help prevent injury to the athlete
b. Ensure that the practice environment is free from hazards
c. Supervise participants to help prevent unsafe behavior
d. Take appropriate action in all accidents and assist Center personnel in emergencies
4. Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relations with personnel and management
a. Attend all staff meetings
b. Provide input for Aquatic area planning
c. Discuss problems or concerns with the appropriate personnel
d. Responsible for any set-up and putting away of equipment necessary for the program and ensure that all equipment is treated appropriately
5. Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications :
1. If required to be certified in CPR / AED and / or First Aid by an outside certifying agency, association or membership as outlined in this job description, or by your supervisor, candidate must hold, or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, the required certification(s) through any nationally recognized safety certifying agency
2. Must meet all eligibility requirements for, and be registered, or get registered within 60 days of hire, with the National Governing Body for the sport being coached
3. Excellent public relations and communications skills
4. Ability to work under stressful conditions
5. Ability to keep a large group of youth on task
6. Good problem solving abilities
7. Willingness to assist others
Salary Description
14.00-$16.00 / hr DOE
Salary : $14 - $16
