6.2025 - Small Vehicle Driver

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to pass Nebraska Department of Education physical.
• Must possess a valid Nebraska Driver's License and have a good driving record.
• Must be able to interact professionally and calmly with students and families.
  
  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)

• Available as assigned by the Transportation Director.
• Drives routes at regularly assigned times.
• Reports to the bus barn 30 minutes before assigned depart times and performs pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Understands and follows all rules and regulations for bussing as set forth by the State of Nebraska and the Board of Education for the transportation of school children.
• Monitors safety supplies in and on all special education vehicles.
• Emergency Response Checklist
• First Aid
• Insurance card and registration
• Ensures a safe environment for students as they ride the vehicle.
• Ensures that only registered and approved students and staff ride in the vehicle.
• Exercises sound judgment and maintains good public relations with parents, students, and staff.
• Keeps the interior of the vehicle clean (floors swept, windows clean, etc.)

WORKING CONDITIONS: All weather
