Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Ophthalmic Assistant located in Kearney, NE. The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for assisting doctors with patient care, including performing diagnostic tests, taking patient histories, and preparing examination rooms. Duties also include assisting with procedures, capturing fundus photography, and acting as a medical scribe during consultations. Clear communication with patients and attention to detail are essential aspects of this role.

Qualifications

On the job training is provided. Those interested in the medical field and patient care are encouraged to apply.

Helpful experience:

• Knowledge of optometry and foundational understanding of eye-related healthcare
• Proficiency in Fundus Photography and experience with diagnostic equipment
• Experience as a medical scribe and familiarity with Medical Terminology
• Basic understanding of medicine, particularly as it applies to optometry/ophthalmology
• Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or equivalent is a plus
