What are the responsibilities and job description for the 5.2026 - Classified - Early Childhood Para position at Kearney Education Center (KEC)?
Position will start in August 2026.
Hours: 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)
Schedule will follow the school calendar.
Located at Bright Futures Preschool.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational and student supervision skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Works well with children and adults.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)
- Interacts with full classroom, small groups and individual children to meet lesson objectives.
- Supervises students at lunch, playground, and bus areas as directed by the Principal.
- Follows curriculum reinforcement as directed by the teacher.
- Enforces student behavior procedures as directed by the teacher
- Supervises children on field trips and students on buses.
- Diapering children as needed.
- Attending to children’s medical and hygiene needs.
- Prepares classroom materials and set ups as directed by teachers.
- Prepares for delivery and distribution of meals and snacks.
- Listens to children’s verbal development and reinforces with more language.
- Reports areas or incidents where students/staff safety may be a risk.
- Observes student performance and shares information with teacher for completing assessments.
- Assists students in play areas and when using iPad, iPod & devices.
- Attends appropriate staff development activities offered by the district.
- Assesses student skills individually as directed by teacher.
- Attends to students with sensory and emotional needs.
- Monitors students in classrooms and on playground.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
