Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, providing necessary support for both routine and emergency care.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian and monitor animal responses to treatments.
- Provide care for animals in the kennel, ensuring their comfort and cleanliness while maintaining a safe environment.
- Handle dogs and other animals with care, ensuring their safety and well-being during visits.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with client communication regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Help with the daily operations of the veterinary clinic, including cleaning and sterilizing equipment as needed.
- Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs and assisting in emergency situations.
Experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with animal physiology, medication administration, and kennel management is advantageous.
- Experience handling equine or large animals is a plus for candidates interested in expanding their skill set.
