Counter Sales / Inside Sales Representative
Farmingdale, NJ
We’re looking for a motivated Counter Sales / Inside Sales professional who understands the plumbing industry, enjoys building customer relationships, and wants to grow with a company investing heavily in expansion across the region.
This is more than a counter role — we want someone who can support walk-in customers, grow existing accounts, generate inside sales opportunities, and become a trusted resource for contractors, plumbers, and trade professionals.
Overview
- Location: Farmingdale, NJ
- Base salary range: $50K–$70K (depending on experience)
- Monthly commission opportunities
- Monday to Friday schedule, Saturday rotation 8AM -12PM (overtime)

What You’ll Do
- Assist walk-in and phone customers with product selection and order fulfillment
- Upsell complementary products and recommend stocked alternatives
- Build strong relationships with contractors, plumbers, builders, and service professionals
- Support inside sales efforts by calling existing and underperforming accounts
- Provide technical product knowledge and solutions to customers
- Maintain organized counter displays and work areas
- Learn and grow within plumbing, HVAC, and wholesale distribution product lines
What We’re Looking For
- Strong plumbing product knowledge required
- HVAC knowledge preferred (or willingness to learn)
- Wholesale distribution experience strongly preferred
- Previous counter sales, inside sales, or contractor supply experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced branch environment
- Motivated sales mindset with relationship-building ability
- Comfortable using ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office
