The Role
As Data Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and grow a team responsible for building and evolving a modern data platform on GCP. Your work will underpin how data flows from experimentation to insight, supporting analytics, machine learning and operational workflows across the organisation.
You’ll combine people leadership with strong technical direction, ensuring the platform is reliable, scalable and built with long-term impact in mind.

Your Experience
We’re looking for a data engineering leader who brings strong people management alongside deep cloud and platform expertise.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience managing data engineering teams in production environments
- Strong hands-on background with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GCS)
- Excellent Python and SQL skills within modern data stacks
- Experience designing platforms that support analytics and ML use cases
- Clear communicator across engineering, product and scientific stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Exposure to scientific, biotech or ML-heavy environments
- Experience supporting feature engineering or ML-ready datasets
- Familiarity with orchestration and workflow tooling
