Material Handler Forklift Operator

KDM Steelworks, Inc. is a stair, rail, structural steel metals fabricator that has established an outstanding reputation for safety, quality, and productivity in the field of steel fabrication.

We are located near the beautiful Rocky Mountains in the heart of Loveland Colorado.

We are currently looking for experienced and dependable full-time material handlers.

The job of material handler is an entry level position to the steel industry. With this position you would be moving material, loading and unloading of material such as beams, channels pallets etc., in and out of the shop along with different locations in the shop.

Our shop hours are from 6am to 4:45pm Monday through Thursday.

Job Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
• Must be over 18 with a valid driver's license.
• Experience: Use of hand tools, heavy machinery, forklift and overhead cranes
• Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: English communication (written & verbal) skills; Ability to receive/read instructions and implement specific instructions.
• Standing for long periods of time, with the majority of the time spent in a machine and fabrication shop environment. Walking is required within the office and shop areas. This position also requires turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, fingers, use of eyes. Due to the responsibilities of production, must lift up to 75 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. • Must have a basic set of hand tools.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Read and follow directions from Foreman and or Logistics Manager.
• Able to move and lift material of a lot of different sizes.
• Able to use basic hand tools which include grinding, drilling and cutting.
• Ensure that product standards, both as to quality and quantity are met.
• Apply all safety measures when working in the shop and with welding machines/ hand tools.
• Maintain a positive attitude with all employees, vendors, and customers.
• Other tasks as requested by the Shop Foreman and other employees.

We do not install or do any field work. All work is done in our shop or on the shop grounds in Loveland, CO
