Duties
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation equipment, and heating systems according to schematics and design plans
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately install systems
- Troubleshoot issues related to refrigeration, plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical components using tools such as ohmmeters and diagnostic software
- Conduct field service visits for system inspections, repairs, and upgrades at customer sites
- Weld or modify equipment as needed using welding tools to ensure secure connections and proper installation
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, parts used, and system performance for each job
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or service technician roles specializing in HVAC installation and maintenance
- Strong mechanical knowledge including refrigeration systems, ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and appliance repair
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents accurately
- Familiarity with plumbing systems and property maintenance practices
- Experience with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems is highly desirable
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and equipment repair techniques
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience as a
driver preferred - Knowledge of welding techniques and mechanical repair skills necessary for system modifications
- Ability to work safely in various environments while adhering to safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues on-site
