What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at KDK Construction, LLC?
KDK Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for quality, schedule, safety, and overall jobsite success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a weekly 3-week look-ahead schedule; coordinate all subcontractors and suppliers.
- Personally verify subcontractor work meets quality standards (earthwork, concrete pours, framing, etc.). Never leave the site during concrete pours.
- Thoroughly understand construction plans and promptly address discrepancies via RFI.
- Schedule and manage all inspections (including special inspections) at least 24 hours in advance.
- Maintain full SWPPP compliance at all times.
- Enforce OSHA safety rules, conduct daily morning safety walks, provide subcontractor orientations, and ensure proper PPE is worn.
- Manage and protect all site equipment and temporary facilities (trailer, fencing, toilets, dumpsters, forklift, temp power/water).
- Be on-site whenever subcontractors are working.
- Complete daily reports with photos and maintain daily communication with the Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, plans, and building codes.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- OSHA 30 preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
