KDD | Kim Dee Designs is a growing, full-service interior design studio known for thoughtful, elevated spaces and exceptional client experiences. We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead studio operations, support client experience, and help scale the business with intention.
The Director of Operations is responsible for transforming vision into execution across studio operations, client experience, project oversight, and business growth support. This role acts as the operational backbone of the firm—ensuring projects run smoothly, clients feel exceptionally cared for, the team is supported, and systems are in place to scale profitably. This role is ideal for a highly organized, people-centric operator who thrives in a creative environment and enjoys building systems that allow great work to happen.
Success in this role directly contributes to increased project capacity, stronger client satisfaction, improved efficiency, and sustainable revenue growth.
What You’ll Do
- Own and elevate the client experience from onboarding through project completion
- Provide high-level oversight of the project pipeline to ensure smooth execution
- Support the Design Team by removing operational and administrative barriers
- Strengthen business development efforts through lead management and process support
- Build and maintain operational systems, SOPs, and workflows
- Manage procurement coordination, vendor relationships, and financial operations support
- Serve as a trusted operational partner to leadership

Key Responsibilities
Client Concierge | Client Experience
- Serve as the primary operational steward of the client experience
- Ensure clients feel informed, supported, and cared for throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee client communication standards, response times, and follow-through
- Identify and address friction points in the client journey
- Support proactive resolution of operational issues before they escalate
- Implement client feedback loops (mid-project and post-project)
- Track client satisfaction and identify trends or improvement opportunities
- Partner with leadership to refine client experience standards as the firm evolves
Project Oversight Design Team Support
- Maintain visibility over the full project pipeline
- Ensure projects are progressing on schedule from an operational standpoint
- Support the Design Team by removing administrative and logistical bottlenecks
- Coordinate resources and priorities across active projects
- Identify risks, gaps, or resourcing challenges early and escalate as needed
- Monitor consistency in client experience across projects
- Support refinement of internal workflows tied to project delivery
Business Development Growth Support
- Support creation and execution of business development strategy and initiatives
- Support lead management and follow-up systems. Track pipeline health and project capacity.
- Ensure timely, professional response to new inquiries

- Identify operational constraints limiting growth and propose solutions
- Support office expansion, and strategic initiatives. Ensure stronger ops readiness for growth.

Studio Operations Infrastructure
- Create, document, and maintain SOPs across the studio
- Own internal policies, procedures, and operational playbooks
- Establish repeatable systems that support consistency and scalability
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Oversee scheduling systems, internal calendars, and workflows
Procurement, Vendor, and Financial Operations Support
- Coordinate purchasing and procurement processes
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and pricing structures
- Ensure quality, timelines, and cost control
- Oversee invoicing coordination and payment tracking
- Serve as liaison with accounting/finance partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Project Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in design studios, construction offices, or project support roles.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
- Knowledge of furniture, finishes, building materials, and furnishings procurement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp) is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
