About the Role

Kitsap Credit Union is hiring a full-time Title Specialist to work in-person out of our East Bremerton location. This position is responsible for supporting the branches and members by coordinating and facilitating incoming title paperwork, perfecting and releasing liens and other loan servicing activities ensuring effective and efficient department operations.

Salary Range: $25.35 - $28.00/hour depending on experience   

Bonus Target: 5% potential incentive of base pay  

Grade: 6BC

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manages and processes all vehicle documentation including appropriate fees, tax and title information, and registrations according to specific state law. Collaborates with County employees and requests quotes for accuracy.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of title terminology, concepts, practices and procedures, and individual state laws.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of title documentation in an effort to resolve and avoid collateral issues.
  • Ensures perfection of a lien in a timely manner by following up with branches, members, and others through various communication channels.
  • Reviews electronic lien system to monitor for lien perfections or title issues.
  • Ships plates and registration to the members upon receipt from the Department of Licensing.
  • Provides title support to members and front-line staff.
  • Manages the release of perfected documents on paid in full loan.
  • Responds to letters of guarantee.
  • Processes error corrects and other loan adjustments as needed.
  • Assists Loan Servicers with various other tasks on as needed basis.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of experience working in a banking, credit union, or similar financial environment.
  • Knowledge of title processes desired.

 

Supervisory Status

This position does not supervise others.

 

Working Conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs.
  • Constantly positions self in work environment.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions.
  • Must be able to detect objects at a distance.
  • On occasion will move up to 20 pounds of office objects.
  • Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions.
