Position Summary
KCS Public Relations is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Senior Public Relations Associate. This role is responsible for leading client accounts, developing and implementing strategic communications initiatives, managing stakeholder engagement efforts, and providing communications counsel to a diverse portfolio of clients.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, relationship builder, and project manager who can oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously while delivering exceptional client service and strategic guidance.
This is a full-time hybrid position based in Victoria, Texas, with local travel and occasional evening attendance at meetings or events as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts
- Develop and implement strategic communications, public relations, and stakeholder engagement plans
- Provide communications counsel and recommendations that support client goals and business objectives
- Lead community relations, public involvement, outreach, and stakeholder engagement initiatives
- Develop key messaging, communication materials, presentations, reports, and outreach content
- Oversee project execution, timelines, deliverables, and client communications
- Conduct research and analysis related to public opinion, stakeholder concerns, industry trends, and community issues
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction
- Support business development efforts, proposal preparation, and relationship-building activities
- Represent the firm professionally at client meetings, public events, industry functions, and community engagement activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, business, political science, or a related field OR
- Three to five years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, community relations, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, lead and work cooperatively with a team
- Ability to critically think, problem solve, and delegate tasks
- Interest in community engagement, public participation, and strategic communications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and common digital communication tools
- Working knowledge of social media platforms and online communications best practices preferred
