A CEI Landscape Inspector must enjoy field work and have the physical condition to walk construction sites and to perform close examinations of tree roots, branches, leaves, site soils and irrigation systems.
Duties:
- Inspect landscape projects to ensure compliance with the contract documents
- Produce photo documented reports
- Maintain daily records and tracking work progress
- Professional communication and interaction with contractors and others
- Must find and identify construction deficiencies, evaluate corrective actions, and formulate responses
- Must collaborate and coordinate with other members of the team
- Attend construction progress meetings
- Green industry Certifications - ISA, LIAF, FNGLA or ability to earn them.
Skills:
- Knowledge of Florida plants and the Florida Grades and Standards for Nursery Plants
- Current knowledge of landscape installation and maintenance procedures and horticultural practices
- Working knowledge of irrigation systems
- Knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in the industry
- Understanding of construction plans, specifications, and details
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ambitious and committed to producing excellence work
- Manage projects and adapt to ever changing schedules
- Ability to travel throughout Florida
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working in a construction related field.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Ability to understand construction plans, specifications, and procedures.
- Demonstrate basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Possess the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently.
- Work effectively as a team member and complete daily reports by hand and computer.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass and maintain required certifications
