Our client, a Newport Beach management and investment firm with a growing list of operating companies and assets under management is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented HR Manager to oversee all human resources functions across our related companies in California. This role is based full-time at our 120 Newport Center office and requires a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is deeply knowledgeable in California labor laws, and can handle HR and payroll matters swiftly and effectively. The HR Manager will be the primary point of contact for payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and all HR-related issues for our growing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

·       Serve as the primary HR contact for all companies, providing guidance and support to site leadership on HR and compliance matters.

·       Ensure full compliance with California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and workplace safety requirements.

·       Manage and process payroll for all acquisition sites, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to legal requirements.

·       Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and problem resolution.

·       Coordinate and participate in new employee onboarding at acquisition sites, ensuring employees have all necessary tools, resources, system access, and information to begin their workday successfully.

·       Address employee relations issues promptly and professionally, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

·       Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and compliance documentation.

·       Support recruiting efforts, onboarding, and offboarding processes for all acquisition sites.

·       Provide training to site leaders and managers on HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

·       Collaborate with leadership to develop and update HR policies and procedures for consistency across all sites.

·       Respond promptly to payroll or benefits-related inquiries from employees and managers.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; HR certification (PHR/SPHR) a plus.

·       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in human resources, with at least 3 years in a California-based HR management role.

·       Expert knowledge of California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and employment compliance requirements.

·       Proven experience managing payroll and benefits administration.

·       Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

·       Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

·       High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

·       Proficiency in HRIS, payroll software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment

·       This position is 100% on-site in Newport Beach

·       Occasional travel to acquisition sites may be required.

 

Salary : $11,000 - $135,000
