This position is responsible for fabricating crates or boxes using hand and power tools while maintaining safety, quality, customer, housekeeping and productivity specifications.
Responsibilities
- Builds crates around large products
- Packages items in appropriate packaging
- Reads drawings, sales orders, work orders, and other specifications needed for determining size and shape of crate/packaging with appropriate materials
- Uses hand tools, saws, nails, and screws as needed
- Inspects the completed item to ensure product is secure for transit without damage
- Meets deadlines with attention to detail while following quality requirements
- Maintains a clean work environment and follows housekeeping requirements
- Follows company safety policies and procedures
- Signs off schedules and manages paperwork as directed
- Works independently and as a team
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Maintains a professional manner
- Follow directions provided by Leads, Supervisors, and Management
Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with crating preferred
- Efficient time management skills
- Overtime required depending on workload
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Operation of motorized equipment (ie forklift) as needed
- Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds individually
- Ability to make repetitive movements, including but not limited to bending and squatting
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred
