Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and vehicles.
Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) and repair processes to include but not limited to, Diesel and gas engines, air & hydraulic braking systems, suspensions systems, drive train assemblies, automatic transmissions, differentials, hydraulic lift systems, electrical systems and body assemblies
- Troubleshooting to the highest level
- Repairs on a variety of Semi Tractors, Tailers and Equipment, Cummins, Macks and Detroit Diesels
- Ensure accurate diagnosis based on customer statements and determine appropriate repairs needed
- Knowledge of tools and equipment beings used
- Ensure timely and effective repairs of any problems found during inspection
- Prepare and complete required paperwork
Qualifications
- KC'S Truck Equipment is seeking a high energy, self motivated Service Mechanic
- State Certifications
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment
- Strong communication skills
- Pays Great attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong working knowledge with complex heavy truck diagnostics and repairs including engines, transmission, electrical, steering and suspensions
- ASE Certification & CDL Endorsement a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Trade school preferred as well)
- Valid drivers license
- 3 years experience servicing and maintaining diesel engines
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair medium to heavy duty vehicles
- Must have a complete set of hand tools and be proficient in all areas of truck repair
- Must be detailed oriented and able to work in a team environment
- Ability to work intelligently with comment sense & keep work environment clean
