Job Overview
The Protection Agent plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of individuals, property, and assets. In addition to being mentally alert, physically strong, morally straight and tactically sound, our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, hard-working, and prides him/herself in going the extra mile. KC Protective Services is looking for a professional who possesses a strong background in military, security, or law enforcement, with the ability to respond effectively to incidents while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
We are looking to fill a part-time security position (18 hours per week, Fridays 3pm-10pm and Saturdays 8am-7pm), with opportunities to pick up extra hours.
Responsibilities
- Monitor premises through surveillance systems and physical patrols to detect and prevent unauthorized activities.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, ensuring the safety of all individuals on-site.
- Conduct thorough investigations into security breaches or suspicious activities, documenting findings accurately.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure effective incident response and resolution.
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and damage to property.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
- Engage in conflict management techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations effectively.
- Greet and interact with and escort employees, customers and contractors.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Strong background in law enforcement or military experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays required
- Must be able to demonstrate competency with assigned weapons and pass a mandated qualification course
- Must be able to demonstrate appropriate verbal and written communication skills
- Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a friendly and professional manner
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Clean and professional appearance required (facial hair and tattoos can be acceptable)
- Must pass background check
- Must have respectful and professional behavior both on and off duty
- Must obtain and maintain private security officer license as required for assignment
- Must obtain and maintain valid Agent ID issued by Missouri DHSS to work inside a cannabis facility
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle disputes calmly and professionally.
- Ability to assess risks quickly and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail for identifying potential threats or irregularities. This position is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to maintaining safety standards while demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills in high-pressure situations.
