Delivery Driver

Job Summary
The Delivery Driver works with other delivery department associates and the Warehouse Manager to meet the department’s objectives in a timely, safe, and efficient manner. Services should be provided according to company policies and procedures, while ensuring customer satisfaction and positive community relations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a positive professional relationship with our customers, other health professionals and the community in general.
• Maintains a safe environment in work practices and vehicle maintenance.
• Calls to verify delivery details (steps, floor locations, etc.) with customers in advance to best meet customer needs.
• Assures prior to leaving the warehouse that the vehicle is loaded with the correct supplies and equipment to be delivered to the right customer at the right time while keeping the service needs of our clients at the forefront.
• Maintains a clean vehicle and working environment, including disposal of equipment and packaging
• Maintains company vehicle, notifying supervisor as needed.
• Notifies Warehouse Manager of rental equipment damage or dysfunction.
• Assist in repairing equipment as time allows.
• Notifies Warehouse Manager of equipment item numbers as rental equipment is delivered and upon return, accurately & timely.
• Locates rental equipment without assistance from the Warehouse Manager.
• Assesses rental equipment in the home upon delivery for full function and adequate condition. Communicates relevant issues to Store Manager and Warehouse Manager.
• Cleans rental lift chairs and hospital beds once picked up from customer. Covers, labels, and moves rental equipment to rental area in warehouse.
• Assures time and mileage tracking within the department. Files mileage sheets in binder at end of workday.
• Communicates tasks that cannot be completed due to time restrictions during day.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Experience

• Prior experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Safe driving record
• Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently.
• Previous experience with courier services or logistics is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
