What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Coordinator/Billing Specialist position at KC Complete Prosthodontics?
Position: Insurance Coordinator
A new position has opened at KC Complete Prosthodontics in Leawood, KS. This position is the insurance coordinator/billing specialist. The primary role of this position is to communicate with insurance companies to determine benefits, send pre-determinations, bill insurance companies and patients, dispute denied claims, managing patient accounts and aid in treatment plan formation for patients. Secondary tasks include appointment scheduling, answering the phones, and discussion with patients about treatment plans and treatment. You would be working closely with the Doctor to develop treatment plan estimate costs for the patients as well as aid in their scheduling. Some medical billing is also done as some of our patients have true medical needs for their treatment such as accidents and cancer.
The office generally sees patients Monday 8-5, Wednesday 8-5, every other Thursday 9-2, and most Fridays 8-4 although some weeks we do change a bit depending on everyone’s schedule. Tuesday is kept as an administrative day with minimal patients to allow more time to complete needed tasks. The days without patients also gives you the flexibility to have personal appointments without the disruption of patient care as we realize this is difficult seeing patients every day. This is a fast-paced office on days we see patients and benefit coordination along with treatment plan coordination is important as there are generally multiple steps involved in the treatment plans.
While challenging, this position will allow you some freedom for your personal life as well as help patients with more complicated dental needs. The position pay would range from $25-29.00 per hour depending on experience. There is also the potential for bi-yearly bonuses dependent on individual performance and contribution to the practice, not the practice collections. After 3 months of employment, there is a base starting bank of 10 days off per year and that will increase along with length of employment. We are also flexible in that if you need to make appointments on patient days, with advanced notice that is generally ok. Continuing Education both individually and as a group is also available.
