Paralegal — Legal & Tax Compliance

We're partnering with a Kansas City-based organization seeking a Paralegal to support their legal and tax compliance operations. What You'll Do
- Multi-State Compliance: Research business registration, foreign qualification, licensing, and government filing requirements across states and jurisdictions.
- Tax & Regulatory Research: Analyze sales and use tax nexus, exemption questions, and regulatory obligations — using AI tools to accelerate research.
- Filings & Deadlines: Prepare and submit government filings, renewals, and exemption applications accurately and on time.
- Compliance Tracking: Maintain a compliance calendar and document management system, and monitor regulatory changes.
- Outside Counsel Support: Prepare research briefs and help coordinate with outside legal counsel and accounting firms.
- Team Support: Assist executive, legal, and accounting teams on projects as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Paralegal certificate, legal studies background, or J.D. — all are welcome to apply.
- Experience in legal, compliance, tax, or regulatory work preferred.
- Strong research skills — able to read statutes and government guidance and summarize them clearly.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions.
- Clear written communication skills.
